Finishing up some projects

I found some time today to complete a card I started last week.  I love how this looks fairly clean and simple but in truth its got lots of elements.  I used my friends MFT Blueprints #15 to create the background and angled edges and vinyl for the sentiment.  The image is from 2CuteInk which i stumbled across late last year.  I believe they offer  a freebie at the challenge blog each month too.

This little guy was printed up quite large and coloured with Copics.   The colours I chose worked perfectly with the CTMH coloured papers I found afterwards.

Im going to enter this into a few challenges
Double Click - Use a Bird  (second entry)

New colours....

I got myself some Polychromo Pencils last week and I have absolutely no idea how to use them.  I don't like it when you see obvious pencil lines (i mean in my projects not others).  So my image got more and more vibrant as I added more colour and the end result is great, I loved the outcome.  And yes the colours really are this vibrant in real life.

When colouring, I found that if I put a layer of the lightest colour and then started with darker colours the blend was really easy.  Just a big learning curve.

I made a mistake with this little guys scarf, I completely forgot it was an image based on Harry Potter and should of used Gryffindor colours!  Oops.
The image can be found at 2CuteINk

The East Wind - New Release

I feel so very spoiled with the images from The East Wind, this one challenged me.   Im far from a rock chick, so it entertained me to colour up and image that was a punk/rock gal.

Im really enjoying using the grey tone Copics lately.  You can get some really great shading in there.
Im also getting better than letting my mistakes show instead of throwing out the images.

I used a dylusion background for the red stripes and Dienamics die for the wire effect.  The sentiments are SSS dies.

You can grab this image from the etsy store at

I used this beautiful image, which could be much more versatile than what I chose to do.
I think it would work beautifully as a background behind another image too, aswell as being the focus like in this card.

I have used my SSS rectangle dies and a Mama Elephant stamp set.   Its new for me to stamp over an image but I wanted to keep this card flat for postage.

The EastWind - New Release

I had fun playing with this image today and using new colour combinations.  I went to put the card together and decided to go to the "white side" and keep it much simpler than I normally do.  I Use a dylusion background I made last week and didnt really like,  so I cut it up with dies and suddenly that ugly background made sense.

This Image is Lucy Loo 'Song for Tears" and can be found at the store.

The East Wind Facebook page is planning celebrations for their 500+ members

I believe I found my Mojo

When I saw this little pig I just had to have him.  Isn't he the cutest little thing.   I originally was going to colour him up and make a luggage tag for my husbands upcoming Snow trip to Japan.  I have another image printed up and will make a tag with him and laminate it up.

The EastWind Challenge is currently Winter Blues and the challenge runs for another week.

Im entering this little guy into the following challenges
Get Creative - Celebrate Something New (thats easy.. new DT gig)
Moving along with the times - Dies or Punches  (Dies for nearly every element)
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge - X-periment
(cutting through the base and threading twine around the full card.. i know simple but new for me)

Im going back to using Inlinkz for my products, for a few reasons.  I pay for the service and wasn't using it and also to remind myself what products I used incase I want to recreate a similar card.   Im not sure who looks at the links but I hope they come in useful to people.

Ill make a point of linking up the images I use so you can easily find them at the shops I purchase from too.   This means I probably wont link them up in the text of my posts from now on and only in the links section.   Im thinking this will help pages load faster for those with lagging internet.

Insta crazy it is!

I came across an odd DT Call the other day and thought, now this looks interesting.   InstaDT, as in instagram.   Why hadnt I thought to use instagram to promote my blog before?  Well The East Wind indeed had seen this fabulous social media resource and jumped on it.

I applied and am so thrilled to say i'm officially on my first InstaDT, wonder if the idea will follow on to other companies.. or I wonder if they are already there and I'm blind and just missed it.

My Instagram is linked below, I would love for you to head over and follow me and I will follow you back so I can see what your up to.

I got this lovely lady to play with a few days ago and she was so nice to colour up, my intention was to make it look like she was peering through a fence but I'm not sure I achieved that.
