Teddybo Tabs

Ive recently become quite addicted to the I Love Teddybo group on Facebook and several people have been using the Teddybo tab images beautifully.  It inspired me to grab mine from the hard drive and give them a go.

I was actually going to trash the image after I coloured her, but instead I tried something new, I put her down walked away and came back and finished colouring her up.  I originally wasn't happy with her fur but it ended up drying quite nicely.

I got some new patterned papers through the week from CTMH which I used on this background and then I tried something new by double die cutting the circle and embossing the inlay.  Something just to mix it up a little.

I layered the hello die cut by cutting it three times and the adding a layer of glossy over the top.

The brads were from my stash.

Teddybo colouring

Last night I was on Mum's taxi duty while Hubby was at work. I hit the Teddybo store and picked up a few new images (well new to me.. but this one in this photo is an older digi stamp in the store)

I printed him out big with a plan to do a Clean and Simple card, I didn't realise just how big I printed him until I came to putting a card together.

I really enjoyed colouring this guy, I started with his spots using E31,33,35 and 57 then went through with E40 and e41 for his main colour, I added in some grey tones on his big feet and up his mane and wallah.   Some simple BG tones to his hat and he was done.  Quite quick to colour really considering his size.
The sentiment is from a new to me CTMH sentiment set.

Card Makin Mamas - Oh la la Shabby Chic/Vintage

This fortnight we are sponsored by Luna Girl.  The DT were each given some Luna Girl digital pages to work with.  I took some elements from the pages and created the following card.   I used my brother scan and cut to create the butterfly, I first had to edit the background from behind it, so the cutter could see it, I cut it out and then whitewashed it to mute the colours.  I then printed the music sheet pages and distressed them (a bit heavy handed in hindsight).  Popped a few other elements on and wallah.  I definitely need to practice more with digital imagery.  There is such a huge opportunity to get creative.  We look forward to seeing what you create, please be sure to head on over to the CMM challenge page and link up in the next fortnight.  Our sponsor can be found at LunaGirl

Teddybo DT Call

I am excited to apply for the current DT call and even more excited to be thrilled with my final project.

I love this image from Teddybo and I had a recipient in mind when I created the card.  I always find it easier to create when the card is for a reason not just for the sake of creating for fun.

I started by using my cameo to do a print and cut of the image in a pierced oval and then started cutting more elements for my card.  The polka dot background was stretched outwards to make it fit my project.  And the banner was created using lots of foam adhesive to make it jump off the page a little.
As for my colouring, those that have been following my blog for a long time will notice I left some white space, this is something I find hard to do, so I was really happy that I was able to put my Copic's down and leave the image alone.

The DT call is running on Facebook, I'm sure you all will be inspired by the entries that are being submitted.

Be sure to visit Teddybo store too, be warned (enabler alert)... you will want to purchase!

I added the same card with a white backdrop, just to compare.  I think I need to go back to white backgrounds for photos?  Opinions?

21st

Im starting to get organised for some upcoming important birthdays for friends and relatives.  So far an 18th card and now a 21st.

Im entering this card into a few challenges
A Creative Romance - A touch of Kraft
A Vintage Journey - Flourish
Brown Sugar - Lace
Left of Centre - Tag it

I feel more creative lately as my craft room is more organised.  But that said I certainly need to get into the habit of tidying up after every project.  I am also on the search for some things that I have put away too well.. like glue sticks for example.   I mean how far can they of gone!

Thanks for visiting today, please leave me a comment so I know you've popped in and so I can drop into your blog.

Celebration Cards

This month see's my lovely friends son turn 18.  Now this young man needed to be prompted significantly to pick a colour theme for his cake and balloons, so I dont think he is going to pay much attention to his card.  That said I thought I would try a new technique - Rolled paper candles.  I think this is something I will do again.  So easy and in my opinion effective.

My second card is using a Tiddly Image and following their colour inspiration challenge.
I had already made this background when I was lacking inspiration at a recent camp, its stencilled distress over canvas card stock.  I am trying to develop a nice relationship with my cutters to cut words... slowly I'm liking the results.  I have lots of word dies but they are so fine and often I want a sentiment that's a nice size but not quite so petite.  I cut this sentiment twice, layered it up and then clear embossed it to make it pop on the card a little more.
The tiddly challenge can be found at
I am going to play in the following challenges for this cards
