All about Dies

I have spent some time cleaning up my craft room which has motivated me to create.  I have a running joke that if i use a product I can keep it for another 6 months, thankfully I used lots of dies in this card.  Again I have used that adhesive backed card stock, the tree is using three layers of it to give the die some strength.  This is a really easy card to whip up and come Christmas time it may be my go to card idea.  It would easily convert to a tag as well.

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Another project

I love this image from Sugar Nellie, such a pleasure to colour.  I used my new Avery Elle Custom Panel die and a simple background paper.  The sentiment is a combination of two Simon Say stamps sets, I masked off the word you from the smaller sentiment and replaced it with the larger scripted font.

Mums Birthday

Quick card

I recently saw Jennifer McGuire using the Angled die from the Avery Elle Custom panel set and immediately knew that I wanted it.  My good friend Melissa had been making angled cards for a while and just knew what angle to cut.  I liked that it gave some interest to the cards.  Definitely something I will be using often to whip up quick and simple cards.
When cleaning up my craft room I found two packs of adhesive back coloured card stock, no idea on the brand but I believe it was from Big W (Australian Variety Store).  It works wonderfully with the SSS word dies and how wonderful that no glue is required.

I have just updated my inlinkz subscription, I hope that you find it handy to have the links for products used below my posts.  If I link copics its just a general link, I think it would be tiresome to link every colour on every post.  I will however try and list what colours I use in my posts from now on though.

Oh Baby

A lovely colleague at work is pregnant with her first baby, she is absolutely glowing and excited understandably.  I have loved watching her belly grow and now she is so close to that magic moment of meeting her baby its time for a card.  I bet you can simply make out my guess for the baby's gender by what my card looks like.  I did add some pink, blue and green to cover all bases though.

I have had this image coloured for ages and I made the background through the week last week when cleaning up my craft supplies, its embossing paste with a little vintage photo ink mixed in (I simply smooched the ink pad into the craft sheet).

The ribbon is a remnant and I used distress stains in broken china and picked raspberry to add some colour to it.  And of course doodlebug enamel dots.  The sentiment is from Papersmooches (dies)... something I have a bit of an addiction for. (dies that is)

Sketch and Scrap

Another GDT post for Sketch and Scrap where I honestly get the award for most absent minded.  I was waiting patiently for the sketch so I could create until realising I already had it!

This is a very QUICK card so I could post on time but I will definitely make another with a bit more creative flair.  I am not used to clean and simple... I need to learn to love it, as there is something to be said about a fast card.

Please pop over to sketch and scrap and see what their DT has created and don't forget to play along

GDT Sketch and Scrap

Many months ago I was asked to be a Guest DT over on Sketch and Scrap

The sketch was lovely and I really enjoyed using it. I came to grief when my glossy accents didn't dry clear and I had to add glitter.  Im not sure I like the effect but I went with it as the card was already complete.

Please visit the Sketch and Scrap blog and play along with their sketch challenges, there is card challenge and also the scrapbook layout!

Show us some pretty packaging

One of the Mama's is having some much needed rest and this challenge was cancelled.  We have instead posted images for an inspiration post instead.

Ive been quite busy lately with a cruise holiday for my daughters 18th, then with work, where I took on some extra shifts and instantly regretted it.  That said, I love my work but I also love my days off ;).  Catch 22 situation right.  Anyway, this challenge theme was a great help to me with my busy schedule of late.   Step one.. turn on cutting machine, open software, choose a file, cut, create, embellish and wallah!  Sometimes simple projects are just as rewarding as the details creations we all come out with at times.   My biggest issue with this box, is that my glue seems to have failed on one edge (must fix that).

Remember head over to Card Makin Mamas to see what the other Mama's made.
