Announcement Totally Gorjuss

Well I'm a little excited, I threw my hand up for the Totally Gorjuss DT and they said yes...there is something very rewarding about being on a DT and it certainly makes me craft more effectively.  The new challenge at Totally Gorjuss starts today and the theme is
SPOOKY
I don't really celebrate Halloween so I have chosen Spooky colours, let's face it there isn't anything spooky about my card, other tha. The fact I made it at 8am, on a Sunday morning.

Please head on over to the challenge blog

And submit your entry and to see the other spooky creations.

Just Because

Just Because I had a friend over tonight who mentioned that I had 12 hours left to enter into the Totally Gorjuss challenge.

I did some inspiration searching on Pinterest and found a sketch that I liked, I played with a few elements and ended up with a totally different version with a circle off the side of the card.

This weeks challenge is String.  I dug out some variegated cotton twine that worked beautifully with the papers from My Minds Eye (Stella Rose Collection).

When stressed "craft"

As I'm sure half the world is aware, those of is in the Blue Mountains NSW are in the middle of a fire emergency and I've felt sick with worry coming on five days. One of my best friends was at risk but thankfully her home was safe, unfortunately so many lost their homes including my daughters boyfriend and his family. Is simply devastating.

So today I tried to,get my mind of tomorrow's weather forecast and I have made a card.

Gourjuss challenges want string used in their challenge, so I dug through the drawer and found a vintage pink twine to use.

Sympathy Card

A simple card made today as a Sympathy Card for a family that I work with.  Its nice to actually create a card and finish it.

Missing in action

It appears that Blogger ate my scheduled posts.. spooky!
I have completely lost track of time and in a mad dash I found this awesome little file on the Silhouette store for a Halloween themed card.  We don't do Halloween at my house, although I have noticed a few neighbours are starting to get into it.  Its definitely more of an American holiday than Australian though.

I cut all the elements out for this card and edges with distress inks. the purple layer was quickly run through the bigshot with a texture fade.  And wallah, quickest card ever and worst DT member award all in one day (as in I forgot all about making a card)

You all get a sneak peak at my new carpet too..

Head on over to the Card Makin Mama's challenge blog for more details.  You have a whole month to play along.
